How to Fix GOG Games Not Installing

GOG Galaxy is a game client application through which the players can install a new game only on their Windows PC. But, many users are reporting that they are facing the GOG games not installing errors on their computers. If you are also facing the same error, then follow the instructions mentioned in this article.

Choose the Verify or Repair Option
If you want to fix the GOG games not installing error which is occurring on your system, then you can do so by selecting the Verify or Repair option. For this procedure, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Firstly, launch the GOG client program.
After that, search and choose the game installation, which is required to fix GOG games, not installing error.
Press on the more option.
Choose the Manage installation menu.
Press on the Verify or Repair menu.
Remove the Galaxy.db file
You can fix this issue by uninstalling the Galaxy.db file from your system. Here’s how:

You need to check whether the GOG game is running or not.
Launch the File Explorer menu.
For this procedure, you need to click on the Windows and E keys together on the system keyboard.
Launch the GOG storage subfolder that you will get on the default file, which is C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Storage.
Choose the galaxy.db folder given in the default folder.
Press on the Delete option to remove the file that will start the database again.
Turn off the third-party antivirus software
You need to right-click on the toolbar menu.
Choose the Task Manager option.
Press on the Startup option.
Choose the antivirus utility.
Click on the Disable option.
Exit from the Task Manager utility menu.
After that, start the Windows PC once again.
Additionally, you can disable the antivirus utilities.
You can complete this procedure by right-clicking on the computer tray symbols.
Choose the turn-off or disable option.
Otherwise, you need to remove the antivirus utilities.
For this procedure, you need to launch the Programs and Features Control Panel menu.
Choose the antivirus software option.
Press on the Uninstall option.
Adjusting the GOG Galaxy folder security settings tab
To fix this issue, you can change the GOG Galaxy folder security settings option. In case this doesn’t fix this issue, then go through another method.

Many users also fixed the GOG game, not installing error by unselecting the Read-Only option.
You will find this option on the GOG Galaxy and game files.
Launch the File Explorer menu.
You will find the File Explorer menu in the Windows PC.
You need to right-click on the GOG Galaxy file.
You will find this folder in the File Explorer menu.
Choose the Properties option.
Unselect the Read-only option in case it is chosen already.
You will find this option in the General option.
Press on the Apply option.
Choose the OK option.
